Three new Covid-19 testing centres have been set up in Dubai, the emirate’s health authority announced on Tuesday.
The screening centres are located in Al Rashidiya Majlis, Al Hamriya Port Majlis and Jumeirah 1 Port Majlis and have started operations on Tuesday, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) said. The public may now register and book their testing appointments through the DHA toll-free number 800342.
Dr Farida Al Khaja, CEO of DHA’s clinical support services and nursing sector, said the centres will operate seven days a week from 11am to 6pm. Each of them can handle up to 550 examinations per day.
With the addition of these new hubs, there are now five Dubai centres dedicated for Covid-19 screening, including those in Al Shabab Al Ahli and Al Nasr Clubs.
Dr Al Khaja said the DHA’s expansion of Covid-19 testing aims to ensure that the service would be easily accessible to everyone, especially residents who live in high-density neighbourhoods.
The DHA is now conducting more than 78,000 tests daily as it continued to raise testing capacity through the public and private healthcare sector.
